People who are prone to very severe allergies and diseases associated with the respiratory system must not ever sacrifice quality and these brands are designed with just these folks in mind.

Folks that are prone to incredibly intense allergic reactions and ailments related to the respiratory system must never sacrifice quality and the following machines are made with simply these people in mind.

The IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifiers are the latest in the superior hyper HEPA which actually stands for (high efficiency particulate air) to hit the stores. These superior filters optimize the purification process a hundred times more effectively compared with regular HEPA filters. These purifiers on top of that are very easy to maintain cutting out any added work to the already mundane chores of day by day cleaning.

These filters are in addition very environmentally friendly not releasing any damaging components into the atmosphere. The sounds emitted by these devices are additionally fairly low somewhat, cutting out the usual whirring and buzzing sounds of most other low grade purifiers.

They are made with the most effective systems which leave out most airborne dust particles in the atmosphere. The hyper HEPA filters may also keep out most micro dirt particles as small as .003 which is certainly better than the .3 filter utilized in other purifiers. This may lead to filtering out Mold spores, dead skincells, dust mites and pollen. These 2 purifiers use a multiple filtration processes going through the pre filter and the HEPA filter, next as air flows through 90% of the larger substances get trapped within the pre filter and get cleaned out in the atmosphere. This air purifier series uses a similar filtration technique used in hospital clean rooms. Because this series is also made with a triple seal design, air is not likely to leak out and bypass the filtration system. As a result you’d have clean filtered air coming out at all times.

Operating the IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifier is simple; it comes with a handy remote control and a display panel which indicates all relevant controls, like filter life as well as timer status. The timer on the indicator may be set to operate on and off at prearranged times. The purifier fan could operate in six fan options starting from a low of 45 cubic feet per minute up to a high of 260 cubic feet per meter of air flow. At the lowest levels, these air purifiers run very softly, and can be used in rooms up to a thousand sq. ft in length. The filter life indicator also prompts the user when the filters reach 20% efficiency with a color change to Orange that the filter must be replaced to ensure optimum filtering conditions. It would take roughly six months of constant use for a replacement to be indicated. These types of air purifiers have horizantally positioned air filters. It’s easy and uncomplicated to exchange the filters and no tools are needed to accomplish this.

The Blueair 601 purifier gives you the option of 2 different nontoxic polypropylene filters. One eliminates smoke or gas and the other specializes in particle removal. The filters are expensive compared to others, but are easy to remove and need to be replaced every six months for purifier effectiveness. The efficient SurroundAir vent system delivers air exchange without creating a draft and can clear a room up to 679 square feet.

Features of the Blueair 601 air purifier include rollers that make moving the unit easy especially on carpet and the ability to fit in with most room dcor.

The unit weighs 35 pounds and this is due solely to the galvanized steel housing. Dimensions are 26 inches high by 20 inches wide with a depth of 13 inches.
A portion of the population have horse allergy. In accordance with the type of allergy, the following reactions may show:

A portion of the population have horse allergy. In accordance with the type of allergy, the following reactions may show:

*	Watery eyes *	Hives or rashes *	Itchy eyes, skin or nose *	Asthma attacks *	Sneezing and coughing *	Breathing difficulty

The initial encounter with horses is best enjoyed by closely examining if one has an allergy. Precaution must be undertaken by the asthmatic individual because an asthma attack, which may be fatal under extreme conditions, may develop from a horse allergy. Moreover, if one is asthmatic, precautionary steps, like getting an inhaler or medicine ready, must be taken especially when dealing with horse for the first time. Keeping an eye on asthmatic children who get acquainted with horses for the first time is also a must.

Dander is often blamed for horse allergy. Dander is a result of the flaking of the horse’s skin and falling of hair. Aside from dander, horse mites, particularly their droppings, are also typical culprits of horse allergy. A third set of causes is horse urine and saliva.

In spite of putting distance from horses, the occurrence of horse allergy may still happen through indirect contact. To illustrate, tack and clothing used during riding a horse may harbor mite droppings and dander, which may also rub off to rugs and blankets. Getting in contact with these may consequently result to horse allergy. Some experiences tell of a scenario wherein one family member who rides horses triggered the allergy attack of another non-riding member by way of his riding gear and clothing which he brought home. It is prudent then for the rider to change clothes and swab off tack before heading home. Confined places, such as the barn, where horses have settled in must also be avoided to prevent an allergic attack even if the horses have vacated the place already.

Treatment

The treatment options for horse allergies are much similar to other types of allergies; staying clear of triggers is foremost, but medicines like corticosteroids, anti-histamines and desensitizing agents may also serve well. A doctor’s advice regarding these alternatives is important.

An analysis to identify the particular element of the horse that one is sensitive to should be undergone for people who must be around horses so that treatment options can be readily made available.

*	When the particular allergen is dander, horses with curly hair do not bring about such reaction according to many people. It appears that they give off little dander, thus, making it possible for allergic riders to ride them.

*	Underscoring horse mites as the main allergen, subjecting the horse and its box to treatment against mites may bring the allergic episodes to a lower notch.

*	Underscoring horse urine as the allergen, shunning affected areas like the horse box and cleaning the horse may make it feasible for allergic people to be with horses.

*	Regardless of the situation, knowledge on the precise cause of the horse allergy may make it possible for an allergic person to be with horses without the feared reactions.

Although many of the people’s allergy attacks are brought about by cats, cats also undergo allergy spells. Below is a discussion on how cat allergies are triggered. Asthma-like symptoms in cats are sparked off by inhalant allergens, which are airborne particles that agitate the respiratory system of cats. These particles are blamed for skin lesions and hair loss in a quantity of cases. Additional perpetrators are dust, tobacco smoke, pollen, household cleaning products and perfumes.

Physical contact with an item that a cat is sensitive to may initiate contact allergies. Typical examples of these items are plants, household cleaners, dust, synthetic fibers and wool.

Fleas oftentimes cause allergy to cats. As the cat ages, it tends to be more reactive to flea saliva, which is derived from a flea bite, making the flea allergy exacerbated. Just a single flea bite can instigate an immense allergic episode for some cats.

Some foods may also be a source of cat allergy. The nastiest of these are grains and dairy products. A handful of cats also react to meats, preservatives, dyes and other ingredients added to cat foods and treats. In some cases, a number of years may pass by before food allergy may be revealed.

Some cats may also undergo drug allergies. Drug reactivity of cats is not foreseeable, thus, a careful observation is when the cat is under medication is recommended.

To manage the situation, it is sometimes effective to eliminate the origin of the allergy. When a food allergy is suspected, your veterinarian can urge you to feed your cat with a bland hypoallergenic meal until symptoms diminish. Oftentimes, animal doctors rely on antihistamines to contain the symptoms. Antihistamines or whatever medicines must not be given to cats if they are not advised by a veterinarian.

It is common knowledge that eating a healthy diet is essential but certain diets may have certain impact on your allergies or hay fever. One benefit of healthy diet consumption is it facilitates the maintenance of a healthy respiratory system. The clogging of your nasal passages you may be experiencing right now might be the upshot of what you have been eating, or what you have not eaten. The consumption of the right types of food can help decongest clogged nose. In addition, eating a healthy balanced meal can strengthen your immunity to allergies. Your body’s fight against sinus and respiratory infections can be simplified by eating the proper food rich in nutrients.

Nuts, oranges, apples, grapes and tomatoes that typically are found in Mediterranean diets have anti-inflammatory properties that can assist in the defense against allergies.

*Tomatoes, oranges, apples. A vital antioxidant, Vitamin C, can be obtained from these fruits. Vitamin C sourced from these fruits is aids in the fight against asthma and allergies. About fifty percent of the asthmatic population are also found to experience allergies, thus, making the antioxidant in these fruits more significant.

*Grapes. Resveratrol, another vital antioxidant which exhibit anti-inflammatory effects, can be sourced from the skins of red grapes. Studies have been conducted to show that grapes also offer added defense against wheezing and allergy attacks. The inclusion of a glass of red wine in ones dinner, therefore, may address your wheezing.

*Grapes. Red grapes have skins rich in resveratrol, another essential antioxidant, which has anti-inflammatory effects. Grapes have also been proven in studies to reinforce defense against wheezing and allergies. Hence, including a glass of red wine in your dinner may alleviate wheezing.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

One more reserve worth noting in combating allergies is the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA that are obtainable from cold water fish like wild salmon, mackerel and albacore tuna. Omega-3 fatty acids abound in these marine products. But if fish do not appeal to you, you have the option of taking fish oil supplements which are rich resources as well.

Zinc

Another element that helps in fighting infection is Zinc. The immune system can be enhanced by the antibacterial and antiviral properties of Zinc, which can be obtained by eating lean beef, whole grains, oysters and tofu.

Foods That May Improve or Worsen Allergies

Spicy foods are a double-edged sword; they may improve or worsen allergies. They can either make mucus less concentrated or cause throat irritation. Together with cough, more mucus may be discharged due to this.

*Garlic. A prominent item in the kitchen, garlic may help water down mucus.

*Cajun spice. Owing to its property of stimulating nerve fibers, Cajun spice, which originates from cayenne peppers, can naturally congest some clogged noses.

People can be allergic to many things and some people are allergic to horses. Depending on the person, this can result in one or more of the following symptoms: – Itchy or watery eyes – Itchy or running nose – Itchy skin, hives or rashes – Sneezing or coughing – Difficulty breathing – Asthma attack

The severity of these symptoms varies from person to person, ranging from a slight itch to a serious asthma attack. People with asthma should be careful when they first come into contact with horses as there have been a number of cases of fatal asthma reactions. In particular, asthmatic children coming into contact with horses for the first time should be carefully monitored to see if they have an adverse reaction and their medication should be available to hand in case that they do.

Horse dander (essentially dandruff) is the most common source of horse allergies. However, people can be allergic to urine, salvia or even horse mites. There are at least five different horse proteins which can be allergic agents.

It is not uncommon for people to have an allergic reaction without being near a horse, through indirect contact. For example, if you enter a barn or other enclosed space where horses have been, one can come into contact with allergic agents even though the horses are not present at the time. Likewise, if a family member rides or works with horses, it is possible to have a reaction upon exposure to clothes or tack which they bring home which are carrying bits of allergic agents (e.g. dander).

Fortunately, there are a variety of treatments for horse allergies. These range from treating the symptoms using medications, to desensitizing treatment, to simple avoidance.

If you wish to ride but are allergic to horses, you may wish to try the ‘curly horse’ breeds as many people who suffer from horse allergies find that they are not allergic to these breeds.

Another approach is to find out which aspect of the horse you are allergic to (by trial-and-error, or by being medically tested) and then simply avoiding this aspect. For example, if one is allergic to horse mites, reducing their population by treating the horse and its box against mites may resolve the issue. Likewise, if one is allergic only to horse salvia or urine, take care to avoid these specific elements.

If you have a baby, you may be worried about her or him having a baby food allergy. While the quantity of cases of food allergies has exponentially expanded in the past decade, the share of children and children with food allergies is still proportionately low. However, if you or somebody in your own family has food allergies or your baby has been showing indications of a possible baby food allergy, it is important to become educated on the topic of infant food allergies.

Baby Food Allergy Symptoms

Any baby who has a food allergy will experience symptoms of that allergy. Common symptoms among infants are hives, prolonged eczema and other food allergy rashes, gas, constipation, diarrhea, and inability to sleep due to over the top bad temper. These symptoms are customarily not life-endangering and most likely point to a mild baby food allergy. However, continuing to give your child the allergen could probably increase the symptoms and the seriousness of the reaction in the future.

Other more heavy baby food allergy symptoms include unjustifiable swelling, Problems or disability to breathe, swelling of the throat, lethargy, inappropriate weariness, and even death. If your youngster experiences any issues with respiring or swelling or perhaps lethargy, call 9-1-1 instantly.

Often times these reactions happen so speedily that you simply do not have time to rush your child to the hospital for help or to call your physician. You want paramedic help right away.

Baby Food Allergy Information

Baby food allergies aren’t common, but when they do happen virtually all of them are caused by 8 main foods. Chicken eggs, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts ( like walnuts, brazil nuts, and cashews ), soy, milk, fish, and shellfish ( such as shrimp, lobster, and crabs ). If you’re allergic to any of these foods, the best idea is to delay giving them to your kid till he or she is at least two years of age.

Many allergies in kids are a result of introducing the allergen too shortly to a kid. The general guideline is a kid should not have peanut butter until he or she is one, and much later if the parents or other brothers are allergic. Baby food allergies can be due to early introduction of the food, so it only makes perfect sense to delay introduction so long as possible.

If you’re worried that your child has a baby food allergy that is exhibiting mild reactions, talk to your doctor about getting your youngster tested. For grim reactions, call 9-1-1 right away.

For two millennia, medicinal mushrooms have been mainstream in Asia. Now, America is taking notice and interest is rapidly “mushrooming.” With the sprouting of this new industry follows issues of ethical quality claims between competing brands.

All medicinal mushroom species are plagued by this. Most fiercely debated is red reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), the most popular of all medicinal mushrooms. So this article will primarily focus on that species, but it’s generally applicable to all species of medicinal mushrooms.

First off, stay clear of cheap, mass-produced medicinal mushrooms. If they are just dried and pulverized, then the medicinal compounds are still inaccessible behind the mushrooms’ cell-walls. You’ll be wasting your money on inert matter.

Then there are the real therapeutic grade red reishi brands, which are produced with much more care. But even here there are big differences between brands. Each claims to be the best, of course, because they want to sell their product. So lets set the facts straight and be independently informed consumers.

Following are the three primary ways of creating reishi extracts. Each method yields different medicinal compounds, all of which are shown in scientific studies to have important properties.

1. Water (Hot) Extraction (polysaccharides, etc.)

2. Alcohol/Ethanol Extraction (triterpenoids, etc.)

3. Fermentation (arabinoxylanes, etc.)

Polysaccharides have been shown to possess powerful anti-tumor qualities through enhancing the immune system and by inhibiting blood profusion through tumors. They are also strong antioxidants. [1]

Triterpenoids include a large number of related medicinal compounds whose proven effects include stabilization of blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood clotting. But most importantly, the triterpenoids are the anti-inflammatory compounds of reishi. [1] Inflammation is a serious component in asthma, allergies, arthritis and many more conditions.

Finally, by fermenting the red reishi, the original medicinal compounds break down to form new compounds with unique healing properties. These “secondary metabolites” have among other things been shown to be immune enhancing and help regulate blood sugar, as well as having unique anti-tumor properties. [2]

Since this article is not intended to elevate any one brand over another, no brand names will be mentioned. Nevertheless, the author does know of two highly reputed brands (American and Japanese) that claim only hot water extracted red reishi is of any value and that alcohol extracts are useless.

They do that, of course, because they wish to sell their products. However, there is no scientific validity to those claims. All three extraction methods listed above yield important medicinal compounds.

To find the best red reishi products, look for those brands that use at least the first two extraction methods in combination: Hot Water Extraction and Alcohol Extraction. Better yet would be brands that incorporate all three extraction methods, including Fermentation.

Last but not least, remember to look at the form the reishi comes in. If the reishi is able to dissolve completely in water-based drinks like coffee, it’s a safe bet that it only contains the water-soluble polysaccharides. An excellent choice as far as coffee goes but an incomplete reishi supplement because it does not include the anti-inflammatory triterpenoid compounds.

On the other hand, alcohol tinctures can actually contain both water soluble polysaccharides and alcohol soluble triterpenoids. The way you know is that the polysaccharides will fall out of solution because of the alcohol, and will make the tincture cloudy. That’s alright though; you just need to shake before you take. Capsules and tablets may be one or the other or both. The only way to know is ask the manufacturer or read their information.

Dr. Rafael has worked with natural health since the’90′s, recently focusing on medicinal mushrooms. He partners with Davida Sara on premium reishi extract and cordyceps extract plus the newly popular mesima mushroom and more.

The most typical system of treating an allergy is by employing medications. However, though relief may be fast in coming ; it also implies risking side effects that may make your health go downhill or which can end up in feelings of sleepiness or experiencing headaches.

People therefore are becoming more privy to the danger of taking chemicals and popping tablets each time an illness develops and so are now looking for alternative allergy treatments to get suitable relief.

Mainstream Use

It is heart-warming however to notice that even mainstream users are finding alternative allergy treatments to be worth trying out and so, it isn’t just the non-conformist user that is turning away from using drugs that their doctors customarily prescribe. The truth of the truth is that a projected forty percent of North Americans have tried alternative allergy treatments in one type or another.

Among the more common forms of alternative allergy treatment acupuncture is very popular and this tried and tested strategy has been proven effective in the case of many allergic patients. It only needs that you’re able to endure having needles inserted into your skin.

In fact, common session of acupuncture requires a therapist placing needles on your face as well as in certain other parts of the body. The top of the needles has a Chinese herb known as moxa and this herb is what provides help in clearing out the sinuses and also revives ordinary respiring.

Massage is another alternative allergy treatment strategy in which individuals that suffers from sinus related issues requires relaxing their muscles especially those that are situated in the neck area as well as in the face. Once these muscles are made to chill it becomes possible to eliminate whatever congestion was affecting you and your breathing too will normalize.

Fighting fire with fire is a well known technique and when used in an alternative allergy treatment technique it can do great things for your allergy. One option open to you in this regard is to eat some local honey that will prove very effective in fighting pollen related allergies. In addition, this alternative allergy treatment makes your body build up its own immunities and though the consequences of such an alternative allergy treatment are yet to be proven those that have attempted it have many positive things to claim.

Food allergy is another common sort of allergy and it happens each time a person eats a certain sort of food. This kind of allergy is unique in that a person can first become allergic to a particular food and then become reasonable to it later.

The bottom line as far as alternative allergy treatment goes is that these forms of treatment are not meant to replace standard allergy treatments ; rather they’re there to help the traditional treatment strategies.
